Louise Payton

Louise Payton, 21.

I spend most my days dreaming of cats, particularly cats in hats.
I am a Fine Art student currently studying in Birmingham.

Currently throughout my practice I use film photography and mixed media (drawing, projections, print and collage) to explore the formalities, surfaces and architectural forms throughout cities. Moving to Birmingham had a huge impact on both myself and the art I now create, thoroughly researching into this city’s history, and its architectural importance. I feel a need to remember and to reflect, to understand when and why things happen, which I feel is deeply rooted in my practice and my approach to art.

Becoming a part of the collective has opened my eyes to so many new possibilities, so many new ways of seeing, doing and exploring. Words cannot describe how excited I am to make wonderful work with such wonderful people.
